DESCRIPTION
The Client Reservation page allows you to create a reservation for a client, using a specific available slot at a selected Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) - funded treatment location, thereby insuring that after the client has been referred to the new program, a bed or slot will be available to him/her. The Client Reservation page is WTL054.
Before You Start
- Your business entity and service location must be authorized to make a Client Reservation.
- You must be assigned a role that authorizes you to access and use the Client Reservation function.
- The following roles include this write access:
- Clinician
- Para-Professional
- Local CMBHS Administrator
- Case Manager
- Program Clerk
- Authorization Approver
- Clinical Supervisor
- Para-Professional Supervisor
- Authorization Requestor
- The following roles have read only access:
- Business Manager
- Oversight
- Medication Specialist Licensed
- The client must have, at minimum, a valid screening in CMBHS prior to the creation of a Client Reservation.
- The Reservation is valid for 48 hours once it is created for currently open slot or from the time the slot became available.
- A Client Reservation cannot be created for a provider location unless that location has available beds/slots.
Business Rules
- Some fields on the Client Reservation page are required, others are optional. Required fields are designated by a *.
- A client may have only one reservation for a particular Service Type, at a particular location.
- A Client Reservation is valid for 48 hours once it is created for a currently open slot or from the time the slot becomes available. After 48 hours, the Client Reservation will expire and the slot will once again become available to new Client Reservations and Admissions.
- The client must have a valid screening in CMBHS prior to the creation of a Client Reservation.
- A Client Reservation cannot be created for a provider location unless that location has available beds/slots.
Accessing the Client Reservation Page
How to Create, Edit, or Remove a Client Reservation
Service Type
- In the Client Reservations window, choose the Service Type under which you wish to create a Client Reservation for this client.
- The screen will refresh, showing a list of locations offering that Service Type where you may create a Client Reservation
Show Detail l
- Highlight the location where you are creating the Client Reservation, and CLICK the Show Detail button.
- The screen refreshes, showing the open or pending slots for the selected Service Type and Location in a table.
Create/Edit Reservation
- To create a new Client Reservation or edit an existing one, CLICK the Create/Edit Reservation link in the table.
- In the Client Start Date section, enter the date and approximate time that the client will present at that location for services.
- The date and time default to the beginning of the current day.
- Keep in mind that the reservation will remain in effect for 48 hours past the entered date and time.
- Next, CLICK the Update link to post the Client Start Date to the table.
Pending Slot
- If you are creating a Client Reservation in a Pending slot, you will need to enter a date that is later than the date in the Expected Discharge Date field.

Multiple Reservations for the Same Client
To save your Client Reservation Record, be sure to CLICK the Save button before navigating away from the page.
