Referral List
REFERRAL LISTS
When a CMBHS client service provider receives a client referral from another CMBHS user organization, the referral is displayed on the receiving provider’s Referral Administrative Action List. From the Administrative Action List for Referrals, the provider can view a referral and delete a referral from the list after it has been appropriately addressed.
The Administrative Action List for Referrals is found on the Administrative toolbar at the top of each page of CMBHS, in the Provider tools Menu and Administrative Action List sub-menu. The Referral Administrative Action List is page number is REF044.
Before You Start
- All client service providers that use CMBHS can make and receive client referrals.
- The CMBHS user must be assigned a role that permits viewing and using the Referral Administrative Action List.
- If an Authorization for Disclosure of Client Information is required by law as part of the referral process, the Authorization must be in Closed Complete status in the client’s CMBHS record before the referring entity can send the referral to the receiving entity.
How to View the Referral Administrative Action List
- The Referral Administrative Action List is located on the Administrative toolbar at the top of every page of CMBHS, under Provider Tools, Administrative Action Lists.
- Navigate to the page by CLICKING ON the Provider Tools tab, and then Administrative Action Lists sub-menu and then on Referrals.
- The Referral Administrative Action List, page REF044, will display.
How to Use the Referral Administrative Action List
- Upon opening the Referral Administrative Action List menu item, page REF044 will display. On the page is a table titled Referral.
- If there have been no referrals to your business entity, No Records Found will display in the table.
- If there have been referrals, the table will display the information for each referral.
- After opening the Referral List page, the user may take one of the following 3 actions.
- Search the List for a Referral
- Using the scroll and sort functions, you can search for a specific referral by date, client name or the referring business entity.
- View a Referral
- The user may chose to view select referrals.
- Delete a Referral
- The user may delete referral from the list.
How to Search the List for a Referral
Three (3) of the column headers are data fields completed by the referring provider the Date, Client Name, Referring Business Entity. These headers are in blue text, bolded and underlined, indicating that they can be used to sort the information in the table. You may sort the table by CLICKING on any of the column headers.
The column headers are:
- Date (View only)
- This is the date the referral was made by the referring business entity.
- Client Name (View only)
- The full Name of the client for whom the referral is made.
- Referring Business Entity (View only)
- This is the name of the business entity that is referring the client (sending the referral on the client’s behalf.)
How to View the Referral
- Select the referral you want to view by CLICKING anywhere in the row with the client’s name.
- Then CLICK on the View button toward the bottom of the page.
- This will open the Referral to page REF043.
How to Delete the Referral
- To use the Delete function, CLICK in the box under the word Delete for the client whose referral is to be deleted from the list.
- Then CLICK on the Delete Selected button that removes the referral from the page.
What’s Next?
After you have completed the needed referral action, you may:
Close the List - This function closes the Referral List page and returns you to your Clinician Workspace or other designated home page. To close, CLICK on the Close button.
Print - This function turns the page into a PDF file and prints the page. To Print, CLICK on the Print button at the bottom of the page.
