CURRICULUM MEASURES
The Texas Department of State health Services (DSHS) requires contractors to monitor their own performance and in some cases, to report curriculum measures to DSHS using the Clinical Management for Behavioral Health Services (CMBHS) system.
The types of measures to be reported are unique to the contract the business entity has with DSHS. This means that measures will be different for every contract and are reported in CMBHS with different data fields.
DSHS contractors that use CMBHS, generally report Program Measures and/or Curriculum Measures. Curriculum measures are reported by certain Prevention Programs on the Curriculum Measures Report page, CMR088.
Before You Start
- The CMBHS business entity must have an executed contract with DSHS that requires the submission of a Curriculum Measures Report.
- The user must be at the business entities’ administrative (parent) location, as measures can only be documented in CMBHS from the administrative location. Curriculum measures cannot be documented from individual provider/clinic locations.
- The user must be assigned a role that permits him/her to select the contract for which the curriculum measures will be submitted and enter the data into CMBHS. Staff responsible for entering measures should be given the CMBHS Measure Specialist role; however, other roles may also access the Measures pages.
Business Rules for Curriculum Measures Reports
- When the user is filling out the Curriculum Measures Report it is in Draft status. If the user CLICKS on Save, the report will be saved in Draft status.
- Only use the Submitted status and Save button if you have finished entering data and confirmed that the information is entered correctly. When you Save the Curriculum Measures Report in Submitted status, you are sending it to DSHS.
- The data in the report can be changed while it is in Draft and Submitted status but cannot be changed after it has been received by DSHS and the report status changed to Approved status.
- CMBHS users can still view their Curriculum Measures Report after their DSHS contract for this service becomes inactive.
How to Create a New Curriculum Measures Report
- To create a new Curriculum Measures Report, the user must first go to the List of Contracts, page CON070, in CMBHS. The list can be found by going to the Administrative toolbar at the top of every page of CMBHS.
- Hover over the Business Office tab and then CLICK on Contracts when it displays.
- From the list of DSHS contracts, Select the contract you need to report on by CLICKING anywhere in the row. Then CLICK on the Curriculum Measures button at the bottom of the page.
- The Curriculum Measures Report List, page CMR082, will open.
- CLICK on the New button and a new Curriculum Measures Report will open.
- TYPE in information for all the required Data Fields.
- CMBHS will calculate the Totals for you.
- Select a Report Status and CLICK on Save.
Data Fields for the Curriculum Measure Report page CMR088
- Enter the numbers and answer the questions in the Curriculum Measure Report.
- CMBHS will calculate the Totals for the numbers you enter.
- Check the data before you CLICK on Save.
- The first two pieces of information on the top of the page, the Business Entity and Program Id, are auto-filled by CMBHS and can not be changed by the user.
Business Entity
- This data field is auto-filled by CMBHS.
- Your Business Entity/Organization’s name will display here.
Program Id
- This data field is auto-filled by CMBHS according to the Contract selected by the user.
- The Program Id can be changed by closing the Curriculum Measures Report page and selecting another Contract from the Contract List page. Each Contract has a different Program Id. It is important that you check to make sure that the data you enter on this page is for the correct Program Id.
Report Date (Required)
- This is the date of the Curriculum Measure Report.
- To change the date, TYPE in the eight (8) numbers that represent the date (mmddyyyy) and CMBHS will put them in the date format or you may enter them as (mm/dd/yyyy) with the slash marks.
Performed By (Required)
- Select the name of the person responsible for providing the data for the Curriculum Measure Report from the drop down list.
Report Status (Required)
- Select the Report Status after you have entered the data and before you select Save.
- The user has access to two report statuses for the Curriculum Measure Report,
- Draft - The user is working on the report.
- Submitted - The user has finished the report and is ready to send it to DSHS.
Audit Information
- After the Curriculum Measures Report has been saved, the following Audit Information will show at the bottom of the page.
- This information is view only and cannot be changed by the user.
- Created By The name of the user that first created the Curriculum Measures Report will display here.
- Created Date This is the date the Curriculum Measure Report was first created.
- Last Saved By The name of the user that last opened, edited and saved the document will display here. This field is updated each time the record is edited and saved.
- Last Saved Date The date the document was last opened, and saved will display here. This field is updated each time the record is edited and saved.
