YES
Assessment (CANS) |
A new assessment for YES Waiver
Services has been added to CMBHS to comply with CMS YES Waiver requirements
and to facilitate the eligibility determination process. The YES Waiver
Clinical Eligibility (CE) will now be associated only with the YES Assessment
(CANS) and will no longer be accessible if only a TRR MH Uniform
Assessment (MH Uniform Assessment has been completed. Overview
of the YES Assessment The YES Assessment consists of two
parts: 1.
YES CANS tab - same questions as the MH Uniform Assessment
2.
YES
Community Data tab – same questions as the MH Uniform Assessment
plus 9 additional questions. 3.
Although the YES Assessment calculates an LOC-R there is
no LOC-A or Authorization tab. Key
Business Rules 1.
The YES Assessment can be completed by an LMHA regardless
of the client’s status with another organization. For example, if a client
has an open episode of care with a private MH provider receiving TRR MH services,
but not YES waiver services, an LMHA may assess the client with a YES
Assessment. No changes to locations or roles is needed. 2.
A YES Assessment can be completed by a YES Waiver LPHA or MH
Assessor. A
YES Assessment can be completed at
a YES Waiver LMHA. 3.
Data for the CANS tab can be populated from a TRR MH
Uniform Assessment or another YES Assessment (CANS) that is less than 90 days
old and the data for the Community Data tab can only be populated from
another YES Assessment (CANS) that is less than 245 days old. Transition
Process 1. Providers should complete and place in Ready for
Review or Delete any CE in Draft
status before the 01/10/2018. NOTE: CEs in Draft that are
Deleted can be re-entered after 01/13/2018 after a YES Assessment has been documented.
Remember, both the CANS and the Community Data can be populated into the YES Assessment from a TRR MH
Uniform Assessment that is less than 30 days old. 2. HHSC YES Program staff will place any CE that is in Ready
for Review status into either Closed Complete or Draft status before the
CMBHS YES training scheduled for 01/10/2018. 3. Providers should not enter a new CE or IPC (Initial,
LMHA Transfer In, Incoming Estimate or Annual Renewal) until after deployment
on 01/12/2018. NOTE: Do not enter a new
IPC or leave IPCs in Draft or Ready for Review status until the associated CE is in Closed Complete status. 4. HHSC YES Program staff will place any CE documents in Ready
for Review status into Closed Complete or into Draft status before the CMBHS
YES training scheduled for 01/10/2018. |
