Accessibility Features |
The Accessibility Project’s
objective is to make the CMBHS application compliant with Section 508
guidelines and to promote seamless interaction for the user via accessibility
tools and screen readers. Section
508 refers to a statutory section in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (refer to
29 U.S.C. 794d) whose purpose is to provide access to electronic and
information technology (ICT) by individuals with disabilities. Section 508
can be found at www.section508.gov. Accessibility changes
will eventually be made to all CMBHS pages and they are being released with
each deployment. Most accessibility changes will not be noticed by users that
do not benefit from them. Examples include the size of the font, the shape or
size of action buttons or moving functions to another side of the screen. Whenever
changes are more significant, we will inform users in the Release Notes. We
appreciate CMBHS Security Administrators ensuring that all users receive
notice of these changes as they impact all users in some way. The Accessibility
Project is also creating a CMBHS Accessibility User Guide that will be
distributed and posted online. |

New Menu Item and Function Accessibility/ Preferences |
As part of the
project to improve accessibility, a new menu item has been added to CMBHS. On
the Administrative tool bar at the top of every page of CMBHS, under Account
Management, we have added My Account.
The submenus Change Password and Accessibility/Preferences are under
My Account. The Change Password page
is unchanged and the Accessibility/Preferences page includes limited
functionality. Accessibility/Preferences The Enhanced
Accessibility mode is now turned on for all users, but has no impact on substance abuse services users. Only the MH Uniform Assessment (CANS/ANSA) show Enhanced Accessibility Mode changes. The
MH user will see pop-up messages when they document an answer that results in
an additional module opening or for other situations. For example, in the
Risk Behaviors section, when the user selects a rating of 1 or higher for
certain questions, an additional module displays. Previously the user was not
notified; now a popup will display. A MH user can disable the Enhanced Accessibility mode by
going to Account Management, My Account, Accessibility/Preferences and unchecking the checkbox and then Saving. (see additional
information below) |

the client had No Income and if
the client had No Extraordinary

will now see these questions “Client
has Income” and “Client has
Extraordinary Expenses” with Yes
and No radio buttons to
document the answers. These are
the Financial Eligibility changes in Edit mode. These are
the Financial Eligibility changes in View mode. All
users of the CMBHS Financial Eligibility assessment must be provided notice
of this change. |

opening or in some other situations. Example:

for certain questions, an additional module displays. Previously the user was
not notified of the additional module. Now a popup message will inform the
user. |
