The Five CMBHS Help Functions

DESCRIPTION 

When you open CMBHS Help, you will see a list of the five Help functions at the bottom left hand corner of the page.

1. INDEX
• If you know the CMBHS page number for the function or topic you are looking for, CLICK ON INDEX and TYPE the page number into the text box.
• The INDEX will take you to the primary Help for that page.

2. TABLE OF CONTENTS
• The Table of Contents automatically displays in the left frame when you arrive at the Help home page.
• Double CLICK ON any link and it will open up so you can see the topics/functions in that section.
• The following icons are used in the Table of Contents:
  • ARROW Icons are used when there is another level of pages within that section.

   

  • PAGE Icons are used when there are no more levels within that page;

   

  • When the ARROW icons are open that means the level of sections/pages within that book are displayed;

   

  • Closed ARROWS mean there are pages that are not displayed.

   

  • To view the contents of a chapter,
    • CLICK ON the ARROW icon and it will point down and display what is included in that chapter.
  • To close a chapter,
    • CLICK again on the open arrow. It will change to and arrow point to the right.

3. SEARCH
• This function allows you to search for a word and then be provided with a prioritized list of pages that include your search word.
• The pages are prioritized according to the frequency with which the word appears on the page

4. GLOSSARY
• Includes words, phrases and abbreviations for the clinical and application aspects of CMBHS.
• Words defined in the CMBHS Glossary are displayed as a link when they are first used within a HELP topic and thereafter, they are displayed using regular text.
• The CMBHS Glossary includes clinical and application words. The clinical words are related to health care and mental health and substance abuse services to ensure a common understanding amongst providers to ensure consistent data entry. The application words relate to the CMBHS application and are included to assist the user in understanding the Help instructions.

5. FAVORITES
   • Save the Help topics that you use the most in FAVORITES for easy access.

Functions/Topics

The Online Help Table of Contents (TOC) lists the main clinical and administrative functions included in CMBHS. Each one of these sections include all the important information you need to correctly document that function within CMBHS.

Function/Topic Description

Provides answers to questions such as who uses this function, what information should be entered in each field, what are the buttons used for this function and are there any special ways of entering data. Step by step how to complete each function Also included throughout Help are Links to related topics. These links are displayed in blue underlined text. Also included is a list of possible errors and suggestions for resolution and details what conditions must exist before a form can be completed.

Before You Start

This section ensures that the user is informed of any preconditions that must exist prior to being able to successfully performing functions and the conditions that must exist before a function or document can be closed complete.

General Business Rules

• The general business rules for the function are listed under this heading.
• More specific business rules related to a function are listed with the items to which they apply in the How To section.

How to...

• Clarifies the meaning of all of the questions and answer choices, and provides systematic instructions on how to document all aspects of the function.
• Provides examples for some questions and business rules as needed.
• Explains any special navigation or controls used in CMBHS for this function. 

Links to other Topics

• Also included throughout Help are Links to other related topics. These links are displayed in blue underlined text.

Notes & Cautions

• Notes: Provide important information that will facilitate efficient use of CMBHS.
• Cautions: Very important information that if not known to the user, could cause loss of data, inaccurate data entry or otherwise jeopardize the quality of the CMBHS experience.

Expanding Text

• When you CLICK ON a word, (insert a description of how expandable text works here) the word expands to show its definition.
• To close the definition, CLICK ON the expanded text.
• Only the first time the word is used within a topic does it include expandable text.There after it displays as regular text.

Trouble Shooting

• This section addresses some of the most common problems encountered by usersand provides suggestions for resolution that the user can implement.
• Trouble Shooting information is not yet developedfor all topics or functions but is includedfor areas whereusers are known to encounter difficulties.

Glossaries

• The CLINICAL GLOSSARYwords related to mental health and substance abuse services to ensure a common understanding between providers and consistent data entry and reporting.
• The APPLICATION GLOSSARYincludes words related to the CMBHS program to assist in the user in performing functions.
